To promote their new engine and new Indians Motorcycles, Polaris had the brilliant idea toRE-BUILD the streamliner of Burt Munroe in the 60,s.
Burt Munroe really had the life he dreamed, going to do his land speed record far away from his home country, setting his world records, in the a time (1967) where his early junk indian Scout, was an obsolete item on the salt of Bonnevile. The old man did it more than times, and wasn't able to make the difference between a real woman and a fake one. (See movie to understand this)
Burt Munroe had a dream and made it, and beyond this, he wrote a chapter of motorcycles history.
The movie "The world fastest Indian" let the world known of his challenge. And now a brand like Polaris is re-editing the challenge. A remake of Burt's life and legacy.
We will see in future what the new Indian Motorcycle staff will do with such a legacy. Clearly they have to think good, and make things right. We all know that marketing and business is essential to any brands. The thing is to do the things right. The cost can be fatal like it happens to priors manufacturers.
Although to say the truth. This this day, Polaris has a NO MISTAKES record. The Thunder Stroke is a nice shaped engine, the logo is the original one, the promotion is clean.
Future will talk, today we wish good luck to the brand.
